Whatever special feature floated your tenant’s boat, you can be sure to play it up and mention it to anyone who comes in to view the property. Or it might be something more functional, like an extra-large kitchen, lots of closet space, or a noise-free dishwasher. It might be something pleasing to the eye, like a lilac bush or a stained glass door insert. What did you like about the house/apartment? If they’ve already signed a new lease it’s way too late to persuade that particular tenant to stay, but once you know the reason they chose to leave, you can take steps to ensure that your next tenant doesn’t feel the same way. If, however, they are moving out because of some issue they have with your property, it’s best to find out sooner rather than later. In that case, you just wish them well and wave them on their way.
